Chhattisgarh: Woman delivers in auto-rickshaw due to unavailability of doctors

In a shocking incident, a woman in Koriya, Chhattisgarh gave birth in an auto-rickshaw due to unavailability of doctors.

According to reports, the woman was rushed to the local community health centre but no doctor was available to help her; the family members then decided to go ahead with delivery on their own.

Last month, media reported a similar incident where a Mumbai woman delivered in an auto-rickshaw on being unable to reach the hospital on time. The vehicle was stuck in traffic for over an hour leaving no option for the woman but to deliver where she was.
