Alex Collins, former NFL running back, passes away at 28 after a motorcycle crash in Florida

Alex Collons, former Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks running back, passed away at the age of 28. The youngster was riding a motorcycle when he collided with an SUV in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. As a result, he was pronounced dead at the scene."May Alex always be remembered for the light and love he brought to so many people in his life," the Ravens stated. "Always quick to greet everyone with a smile, he was a genuinely kind person who carried a special joy and passion wherever he went."

Meanwhile, Ravens coach John Harbaugh paid a tribute and said,"Alex was a joy to be around and someone whose light shined brightly. I'll always remember him for being a great team-mate who had an uplifting spirit that impacted everyone he encountered."

The accident took place in the late hours ofSunday (August 13). According to the police report, the motorcycle hit the rear passenger side of an SUV as it turned left across the carriageway. Currently, the circumstances of the car crash are being investigated.

Collins appeared in 25 gamesfor both the Ravens and Seahawks from 2016 to 2021, scoring 19 touchdowns. He was released from Seattleafter a solitary season and then went on to feature for Baltimore, where he had a memorable run. He rushed for 973 yards in 2017 and scored 14 touchdowns over the two seasons. After being outof the NFL in 2019, the running back returned to Seattle for the next two seasons. Earlierthis year, Collins appeared for the Memphis Showboats in the United States Football League.

Seahawks' executive vice-president/general manager John Schneider remembered Collins after his death and said, "Alex's infectious smile and classic river dance skills will forever be missed. Alex would light up a room and was beloved by our entire building. He enjoyed life and attacked it on the football field."
