Asessions court in Raipur, Chhattisgarh hasrejected senior journalist Vinod Verma's bail application.

The court denied Verma bail saying he had made an obscene video of the victim, ANI reported.

"This conspiracy is serious," additional district and sessions judge Jitendra Kumar said.

Verma's lawyer will now approach the Chhattisgarh High Court for bail.

Verma was arrested on October 27 on charges of extortion and blackmailing.

The Chhattisgarh Police alleged Verma was trying to blackmail the Chhattisgarh PWD minister, and that he had a "sex CD" of the minister.

Verma has been remanded in judicial custody till November 13.
